MORE GOOD CARMA
CARMA, the Bay Area’s “All-Star Jazz Orchestra” has begun a regular Monday night gig at Shanghai 1930, 133 Steuart Street in San Francisco, between Mission and Howard by the Embarcadero. Shows are 9 and 10:30 PM, the food is amazing, and all ages are welcome. Under the direction of saxophonist Mike Zilber, CARMA features some of the best jazz talent around, including Jeff Pittson, Peter Barshay, Andre Bush, Barry Finnerty, Dave Rokeach, Alan Hall, Kevin Porter, Dave Martell, Steffen Kuehn, Marvin Mcfadden, Paul Hanson, Larry Delacruz, and many other luminaries. 1 Minute from the Bay Bridge and 2 blocks from the Embarcadero BART, Shanghai 1930 has a superb sound, great ambience, and features jazz six nights a week in a real listening room (no yuppies talking through the music on cell phones here!). Hope to see you there. Call 415-896-5600, or go to Shanghai 1930's website for info. CARMA SoundsCARMA has been working on a new CD, which will be completed in the next year. Here are some clips from the recording sessions; they’re big, but they sound great. Enjoy!
